Sweat Club’s Top Tips and Must-Haves for the Gym

With what seems like a never-ending list of new gym trends, products and apparel, it can be hard to know what will be most effective with your workout! Luckily, Sweat Club’s team of trainers is experienced in all gym departments. Whether it be exercises, supplements, gear or equipment, we have mastered our list of top tips and must-haves for the gym that help us make the most of our workouts. We’ve compiled our trainer's top gym recommendations to help guide you through the ever-evolving trends and stay on track with your fitness goals!

 

Emma M

Gym Bag & Progress Pics

  • Must-Haves: My 40-litre gym bag is crucial to holding everything I need for a successful workout; either my Nike or Adidas sneakers, grape stamina Sweat Supps and an extra change of clothes. 

  • Top Training Tip: Keeping track of your progress is the best way to keep encouraging yourself at the gym. Always track the weights you're using and take progress pictures, and yes, mirror pictures count! Seeing results is the best motivation.

Secure Leggings & Scheduled Workouts

  • Must-Haves: Any leggings that stay put and don’t require adjustments through my workout are an absolute must. Having a secure pair of leggings will ensure you’re not distracted so you can really focus on your exercises. Wunder Trains from Lululemon are Jodie’s favourite! Sweat Supps Stamina is also crucial to crushing early morning workouts. 

  • Top Training Tip: Scheduling your workouts with a friend, whether it be in the gym, over FaceTime, or checking in afterwards will hold you accountable so that you have no excuse to skip your workout! A bumping playlist that gets you motivated to move and in the right mindset is key to a successful workout! (DJ Jodie on Spotify has you covered)

Good Playlist & A Mat

  • Must-Haves: A good mat is necessary to achieve a solid workout. They provide a comfortable surface offering both support and safety to help you make the most out of your workout. 

  •  Top Training Tip: A good playlist and gym training go hand in hand. Sync your music to the style of workout you’re doing to help set the mood and your intentions. With just those two things, it’s easy to get a great workout in at any time, anywhere!

Sweat Supps & Weekly Planning

  • Must Haves: Sweats Supps have become a crucial component of my workout routine. The Stamina pre-workout is the perfect energy booster so that Emma can give it her all during her workouts. Cooling down with BCAA speeds recovery, reducing muscle soreness so Emma’s ready for her next workout!

  • Top Training Tip: Schedule your workouts into your weekly plan! Having set days and times for your workouts will help keep you consistent and active, ensuring you reach your fitness goals.

 

Stef

Comfortable Workout Gear, Airpods, Correct Form

  • Must Haves: Comfort is key when it comes to getting the most out of workouts, and usually this means Lululemon. Leggings, a tank and an oversized hoodie are the go-to. Wearing a hat also helps reduce distractions and keeps Stef in the zone during her solo workouts. Good music is also key, Stef typically has her favourite hype-up songs blasting in her AirPods. Supplements are another no-brainer, they enhance all your hard work. Sweat Supps Stamina gives the best boost of energy while BCAAS are great for recovery. 

  • Top Training Tip: Quality over quantity. Take your reps slow and controlled. Don’t rush it to get to 12-15 reps as fast as you can. Focus on the movement and muscles at work. You will see the best results from maintaining the correct form.

Lululemon Aligns, Huge Water Bottle, Pre-workout, Planning & Consistency

  • Must Haves: You can’t go wrong with having a big water bottle, hydration is crucial to your success at the gym. Laura takes hers everywhere! Lululemon Align leggings feel like a second layer of skin, they won’t distract you from your workouts. STAMINA pre-workout 30 minutes before Laura’s workout helps her smash it. 

  • Top Training Tip: Plan for success! Each Sunday, schedule your workout schedule for the week, get specific as to when and what you will be training. Consistency is key. Even on the days you don't want to go, get yourself there. Understand that not every workout will be the best but it's about making it a habit.

 

As you can see, there are quite a few consistencies between our trainer’s top tips and must-haves for the gym.
