I love the empowering feeling you get while working out with so many hardworking individuals.

Why did you want to be on the Sweat Club Team?

When I tried my first class at Sweat Club, I was instantly hooked. I love the empowering feeling you get while working out with so many hardworking individuals.

How did you get into the fitness industry and why do you love teaching at Sweat Club?

During my first year of university, I felt lost. I was a competitive figure skater all through high school along with playing many other sports. I knew I needed to keep being physically active for my mental and physical health so I slowly progressed into the fitness industry from there.

I love teaching at Sweat Club because it is so uplifting. No matter how bad of a day I’m having as soon as I’m there it’s all left at the door and I always leave feeling so inspired.

What is one thing you wished you learned earlier in the fitness industry, or that you wish you could change?

When I initially entered the fitness industry, I had so much social physique anxiety that I would only run on the treadmill. I was so scared of being judged for weakness and doing things wrong. I wish I could go back and tell myself that it’s all in my head.

You have a passion for rehabilitation and physical therapy. Do you have any tips for people who are dealing with an injury and still trying to work out?

My best advice is to take care of yourself. I have had tendonitis in both my shoulders since grade 8. I wish I took the time to go see a PT or chiro so I wouldn’t have suffered for so long. If you are experiencing pain, go get it checked out and REST.

What is one book, podcast, or resource you would recommend to our community?

The best book I could ever recommend to anyone is the Ripple Effect by Greg wells. This book has got me through so much and had such an impact on my life. It is full of so many simple tips to improve your health!
